Recommended 2 coats Application  SURFACE PREPARATION Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 18%).Osmo Polyx®-Oil Original is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well using a flat stirring stick or spatula before use. Clean old microporous stains thoroughly. Old paints and lacquers must be completely removed. As a general rule, wear a dust mask during sanding works. Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in wood (with Osmo Wood Filler).Sand wood surfaces carefully. Begin with coarse sandpaper – final sanding work for flooring P120-150, for furniture P180-240. Before oiling the surface, remove sanding dust with a broom or vacuum. The finished surface is influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces. METHOD OF APPLICATION With Osmo Flat Brush, Floor Brush, Oil Finish Applicator Fleece (Hand Pad Holder) or Osmo Microfibre Roller, apply thinly along the wood grain and spread well. Allow to dry for approx. 8-10 hours under good ventilation. After drying, quickly apply a second coat also thinly. After 2-3 weeks, the surface is fully cured. When renovating or recoating an already oiled surface, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient. NOTE Oils enhance the natural tone of wood (permanent wet effect). Applying the product too generously and insufficient ventilation lead to delays in drying. For dark and extractive-rich hardwoods (e.g. Wenge, Merbau, Jatoba etc.), we recommend using Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin. A trial application is recommended. For cork surfaces, due to their high absorbency please ensure that the wood finish is applied especially thinly. On cork, longer drying times are to be taken into consideration (at least 24 hours).Caution: Apply max. one coat thinly to cabinet interiors and drawers with a cloth. If a higher gloss level is desired use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner very thinly and polish when dry. Avoid using Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner on surfaces that have not dried and cured properly. Always trial apply first. Using general or multi-purpose cleaners will increase the frequency of maintenance and recoating. Allow finish to fully cure before heavy usage. CARE Regular Cleaning: Wood surfaces treated with Polyx®-Oil are highly repellent and easy to maintain. Remove debris with the Osmo green Dust-Mop from the Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors, or use a broom or a vacuum cleaner.Damp mop floors using diluted Osmo Wash and Care and the Osmo Micro-Mop Plush from the Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors. Avoid saturating the surface with water. For the convenient cleaning of floors use Osmo Spray-Mop. For furniture or small areas, use Osmo Spray Cleaner and Osmo Easy Pads. Occasional Maintenance: For spot cleaning stubborn scuff marks, or occasionally refreshing satin or gloss Polyx-Oils use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner. Alternatively, Osmo Maintenance Oils can be used to occasionally refresh most Polyx Oil sheen levels, including matt. Ensure surfaces are appropriately cleaned before thinly applying Osmo Maintenance Oils. Recoating: Simply re-apply one coat onto the appropriately cleaned and dried surface when signs of wear become visible.

As a general rule, wear a dust mask during sanding works.Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in wood (with Osmo Wood Filler).Sand wood surfaces carefully. Begin with coarse sandpaper – final sanding work for flooring P120-150, for furniture P180-240. Before oiling the surface, remove sanding dust with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner. Applying Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw over very textured or coarse surfaces could appear more white. The finished surface is influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces. METHOD OF APPLICATION With Osmo Flat Brush, Floor Brush or Osmo Microfibre Roller, apply thinly along the wood grain and spread well. Applying excess Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw 3044 may lead to a white chalky surface. Remove visible white pigments before allowing the surface to dry. Allow to dry for approx. 24 hours under good ventilation. After drying, quickly apply a second coat also thinly. When renovating or recoating an already oiled surface, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient. NOTE Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw is slightly white tinted and protects lighter coloured wood species nearly invisibly. On dark, reddish or ‘smoked / fumed’ wood species, Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw is visible as slightly white chalky surface. Applying excess Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw 3044 may also lead to a white chalky surface. Remove visible white pigments before allowing the surface to dry.A trial application is recommended. Applying the product too generously and insufficient ventilation lead to delays in drying time and the typical smell of oil.Any brushstrokes can be removed with an unused dry Microfibre Roller within 30 minutes after applying. For extractive rich hardwoods (e.g. Wenge, Merbau, Jatoba etc.), we recommend using Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin. A trial application is recommended.Caution: Apply max. one coat thinly to cabinet interiors and drawers with a cloth. Using general or multi-purpose cleaners will increase the frequency of maintenance and recoating. Allow finish to fully cure before heavy usage. CARE Regular Cleaning: Dust mopping using the green Dust-Mop from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors. Damp mopping using diluted Osmo Wash and Care and the Micro-Mop plush from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors. Alternatively use the convenient Osmo Spray-Mop. Occasional Maintenance: If the oiled surface remains light in colour yet there is a reduction in water repellency, refresh the surface with Osmo Maintenance Oil 3079 Clear Matt. Before using Osmo Maintenance Oil 3079, damp clean the surface using diluted Osmo Wash and Care, or alternatively Osmo Spray cleaner and allow to fully dry. For small areas Osmo Maintenance Oil 3079 can be applied thinly with a lint free cloth or white pad. Remove excess product. Allow for good ventilation while drying. A small trial is highly recommended first. Recoating: When slight signs of wear become visible, and providing the surface does not become completely bare, simply re-apply one thin coat onto the clean and dry surface. Avoid applying Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw to bare wood surfaces that have become dirty. Bare, dirty surfaces could appear more rich and dark following the application of the oil finish. A small trial is highly recommended first.

A. No, however it is important to get the mixing correct, we would recommend purchasing a Bona mixing bottle, this will allow for precise measuring.  _______________________________________________________________________ Q. What is the untreated/raw look of timber? A. Generally this is the colour of the timber prior to any coating/finishing  or a fully sanded timber surface.  _____________________________________________________________________ Q. Will my wood flooring need to be primed before applying Bona Traffic HD Raw? A. Yes, it is very important to use a bona primer. Due to the strength of Bona traffic HD a Bona primer will help prevent side bonding (joining individual planks/pieces together) allowing timber to move with fluctuations in temperature and humidity.  ______________________________________________________________________ Q. What is the best primer for the raw look? A. One coat of Bona Natural primer.  ______________________________________________________________________  Q. How much will 5L of Traffic HD cover ?  A. As a general rule 1L of lacquer will cover approximately 10m2 of timber flooring, this means 5L of Traffic HD will cover approximately 50m2 in total (one coat). Although 5L has been known to cover up to 60m2 (one coat). ______________________________________________________________________ Q. Does Bona traffic HD Raw work on all timber species? A. The quick answer is yes, however the best results seem to be on pine and oak timber floors. Due to the white pigment used in the Bona natural primer Some exotic hardwoods (red woods etc) may not have the desired effect.

    Morrells SCANDI Wood Stains

    81 in stock

The Morrells range of SCANDI stains has been inspired by Nordic design and consists of classic wood shades and contemporary pigmented colours. All are lightfast and suitable for wooden substrates. Formulated to provide excellent grain definition and depth of colour while maintaining lightfastness. SCANDI pigmented stains have been designed with a longer drying time to better suit rag-on-rag-off applications, allowing greater control of colour and grain definition. Suitable for tinting pre-catalyst lacquers up to a maximum of 5% by volume. For flooring applications, a minimum of 2 hours to dry must be given before sealing and topcoating. Drying and recoat time will vary with temperature, humidity and absorption of the timber. SCANDI stains must be topcoated. If topcoating with manually-applied flooring lacquer, use waterbased products only. Preparation Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from old finishes, dust, dirt, oil and other contaminants. Pre-sand with 180 grit sand paper prior to stain application to avoid patchy or uneven drying. Test patch It is advisable to test the colour in an inconspicuous area or on a spare piece of substrate.  Note The SCANDI range contains pigments that will settle with time. Ensure the stain is thoroughly mixed before use and at regular intervals to ensure consistent colour. Hand staining Use a soft, white, lint-free cloth. Avoid using coloured or printed rags as dyes can bleed into the stain and cause discolouration. Apply the stain wet to the whole surface to avoid uneven penetration and then remove excess with a clean cloth. For larger surfaces it may be appropriate to apply the stain in sections. When removing excess stain, work with the direction of grain. Spray application Spray apply an even wet coat Remove excess with a soft, white, lint-free cloth, working with the direction of the grain. Wiping off process can enhance the evenness of the colour and highlight the grain definition and the natural figuring of the substrate.  Dip application Plunge or controlled dip can be undertaken Wipe off excess stain with a clean, white, lint-free cloth, working with the direction of the grain. Pack size: 1L, 5L, 25L Touch dry: 60 minutes @ 18°C Recoatable: 60 minutes @ 18°C Coats: 1-2 Coverage: 8m² per litre dependent upon the size, orientation and surface quality of the item being coated Packing: Overnight minimum dependent on the conditions
