Preparation
- Ensure the floor is clean, dry and sanded back to bare timber.
- Collect fine, clean sanding dust from the same floor.
- Mix one part binder with one or two parts sanding dust until a smooth, easily spreadable paste is achieved.
Application
- Mix the binder thoroughly with clean sanding dust.
- Apply evenly across the floor using a trowel or scraper.
- Ensure all joints, nail holes, shakes and splits are completely filled.
- Allow the filler to dry for approximately 20–60 minutes.
- Once completely dry, sand smooth using 100–120 grit abrasive paper.
- Repeat the filling process where required before applying the final finish.
Compatible Finishes
Once fully dry and sanded, Morrells Mix & Fill is suitable beneath a wide range of professional wood floor finishing systems, including:
- Morrells Enduro Sealers
- Morrells XL1 and XL2 Floor Lacquers
- Bona waterborne primers and lacquers
- Osmo hardwax oils
Important: Always use clean sanding dust from the same timber species to achieve the closest possible colour match. Gaps subject to significant seasonal movement may require traditional timber slivers or another suitable repair method rather than filler alone.
