Bona R848T is a professional-grade, high-viscosity, one-component silane wood flooring adhesive supplied in a convenient 600ml foil sausage.
It has a thicker consistency than Bona R848 , providing stronger initial grab and improved adhesive rib stability. This helps hold flooring securely during installation and reduces the potential for hollow spots beneath the boards.
Please note: Bona now identifies this adhesive as a 1kg foil sausage. You may still see it referred to as 600ml in older technical literature and by some installers, but this is the same product in the updated packaging.
Why Choose Bona R848T?
- High-viscosity formulation with strong initial grab
- Excellent rib stability for secure board placement
- Helps reduce the risk of hollow spots
- Suitable for precise application using a 600ml adhesive gun
- Easy to apply and ready to use
- Hard-elastic bond helps reduce stress on the subfloor
- Floor can normally accept loads after approximately 24 hours
- Up to two years' shelf life when stored correctly and unopened
Suitable Flooring Types
Bona R848T is suitable for installations including:
- Engineered wood flooring
- Engineered parquet flooring
- Mosaic parquet
- Wood blocks and overlay flooring
- Solid strip flooring
- Smaller, dimensionally stable solid wood flooring
What is the difference between R848 and R848T?
Bona R848T has a thicker consistency than Bona R848 and is particularly useful where stronger initial grab, improved rib stability or controlled gun application is required.

Application Tools
For gun application, use a compatible 600ml foil sausage adhesive gun . For full-surface bonding, select a suitable Bona adhesive trowel based on the flooring type and subfloor condition.
Subfloor Preparation
The subfloor must be dry, sound, clean, level and free from dust, grease, laitance, loose material and anything that could affect adhesion. Existing coatings, adhesive residues and contaminants must be assessed and treated appropriately before installation.
Check the subfloor moisture level and confirm that it is within the limits required by Bona, the flooring manufacturer and the relevant British Standards before applying the adhesive.
Application
- Allow the adhesive, flooring and subfloor to reach a suitable installation temperature.
- Confirm that the subfloor is dry, sound, level and properly prepared.
- Place the foil sausage into a compatible 600ml applicator gun.
- Cut the foil carefully and fit the required nozzle.
- Apply the adhesive evenly using the selected bead pattern or notched trowel.
- Only apply as much adhesive as can be covered within the stated open time.
- Place the flooring into the adhesive and press firmly to achieve sufficient transfer.
- Remove fresh adhesive contamination immediately using a suitable cleaning method.
- Avoid loading or heavily trafficking the installation for approximately 24 hours.
Important: Always follow the current Bona Technical Data Sheet and the flooring manufacturer's installation instructions. The correct application method, bead spacing and adhesive quantity will depend on the flooring construction, board dimensions and subfloor condition.
