Morrells GP Wood Floor Sealer & Primer is a professional waterborne wood floor primer designed to enhance the natural warmth, grain definition and overall appearance of timber flooring while providing the ideal foundation for Morrells Induro lacquer systems.

Suitable for solid wood, engineered flooring, parquet and herringbone floors, GP Sealer promotes excellent adhesion, improves overall finish quality and helps produce a consistent, professional result.

Unlike many waterborne primers, GP Sealer is supplied ready to use and requires no additional crosslinking additive or hardener, making application straightforward while maintaining excellent performance.

Floor Preparation

Inspect and countersink all nails and fixings.
Sand progressively through the correct grit sequence.
Fill fine gaps with Morrells Mix & Fill Resin.
Complete final sanding.
Vacuum thoroughly.
Ensure the floor is clean and completely dry.

Application

Stir thoroughly before use.
Apply one even coat using a professional floor roller or T-bar applicator.
Avoid heavy build-up or puddling.
Allow approximately 2 hours drying.
Do not denib or sand the GP Sealer.
Apply the chosen Morrells Induro lacquer system directly over the sealer.

The product should be applied to a properly sanded, clean and dust-free wooden floor using a roller or suitable floor applicator. Apply one even coat across the surface and allow it to dry before applying the chosen Morrells Induro lacquer system.

Under normal conditions (approximately 18–20°C with good ventilation), the sealer becomes touch dry in around 2 hours and can normally be recoated with lacquer after approximately 2 hours.

In most cases, a single coat of Morrells GP Wood Floor Sealer is sufficient before applying Morrells Induro floor lacquers.

7. Do I need to sand between the GP Sealer and the lacquer coats?
No sanding or denibbing is normally required after applying Morrells GP Wood Floor Sealer. However, light denibbing may be required between coats of the lacquer system depending on the manufacturer’s recommendations.
