Morrells Induro XL2 2K Polyurethane Wood Floor Lacquer is a professional two-component, waterborne polyurethane finish developed for timber floors exposed to demanding use, heavy foot traffic and regular cleaning.
Its tough yet flexible formulation provides excellent resistance to abrasion, scuffs, spillages and mechanical wear while retaining clear, non-yellowing clarity that enhances the natural character of the timber.
Suitable for solid, engineered, parquet and herringbone flooring, Induro XL2 is an excellent choice for busy homes, commercial premises and other environments where a highly durable professional floor finish is required.
Supplied as a 5L two-component system with the appropriate catalyst. Available in Matt and Silk Matt finishes.

Do not sand or denib the Induro GP Sealer coat before applying the lacquer. Always follow the relevant sealer instructions and test unfamiliar or previously treated timber before coating the complete floor.

Staining Important: Only use a suitable interior wood stain beneath this lacquer system. Remove all excess stain and allow it to dry completely before sealing. Heavy stain deposits or unsuitable exterior and water-repellent stains may interfere with adhesion. Always complete a representative test area using the full stain, sealer and lacquer system.

Coverage and drying times are approximate and will vary according to timber porosity, surface quality, temperature, airflow, humidity and application rate.

Floor Preparation
- Inspect the floor and countersink any protruding fixings.
- Sand the surface evenly back to clean, bare timber.
- After the 80–100 grit sanding stage, fill suitable fine joints using Morrells Mix & Fill mixed with clean sanding dust from the floor.
- Complete the remaining sanding sequence consistently across the area.
- Vacuum thoroughly, including edges, corners and floor joints.
- Ensure the floor is clean, dry and free from wax, oil and contamination.
- If staining, apply the selected stain evenly, remove all excess and allow it to dry fully before applying the sealer.
- Carry out a complete system test on the actual timber before starting.
Mixing
- Measure nine parts of Morrells Induro XL2 lacquer to one part of the supplied Induro catalyst by volume.
- Add the catalyst to the lacquer container and secure the lid properly.
- Turn the container upside down and shake vigorously for approximately one minute.
- Allow the mixed product to stand for approximately five minutes before application.
- Use the mixed lacquer within approximately five hours.
Application
- Apply one even coat of the selected Morrells floor sealer at the specified application rate.
- Allow the sealer to dry fully. Do not sand or denib the GP Sealer coat.
- Apply the first coat of Induro XL2 at approximately 100–120ml per m² using a short-pile mohair roller, flooring pad or suitable T-bar.
- Work predominantly with the timber grain, maintaining an even film and avoiding pooling or excessive overlap.
- Allow a minimum of approximately 2–3 hours drying at 18°C.
- Lightly denib the dried XL2 coat using 150–180 grit mesh.
- Sweep and vacuum thoroughly to remove all abrasive residue.
- Apply the remaining coats required for the selected domestic or commercial coating system, lightly denibbing between lacquer coats.
- Maintain good ventilation and suitable temperature throughout application and curing.
Recommended Application Accessories
- Professional floor-finish rollers and applicators for even application across larger timber floors.
- Clean plastic mixing vessels and measuring containers suitable for waterborne two-component coatings.
- 150–180 grit mesh or fine intermediate abrasives for denibbing between lacquer coats.
- Professional dust extraction and vacuum equipment for removing sanding residue before each coat.
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Allow approximately 24 hours before light use.
- Allow the lacquer to reach full hardness over approximately 5–7 days before heavy traffic, damp cleaning or covering with rugs.
- Use cleaners formulated specifically for lacquered and varnished wood floors .
- Avoid steam cleaners, harsh detergents and excessive standing water.
- Fit protective felt pads beneath furniture and movable objects.
- Avoid dragging heavy furniture or equipment across the finished floor.
Important: Morrells Induro XL2 is a professional two-component product and must be mixed accurately at nine parts lacquer to one part catalyst. Once catalysed, it has a working life of approximately five hours and cannot be stored for later use. Do not use application equipment containing copper, iron, zinc, aluminium or platinum. Always follow the current Morrells Technical and Safety Data Sheets and carry out an adhesion test when coating over a non-Induro product.
