Lecol 7500 Fast Drying Wood Floor Gap Filler is a professional, water-free synthetic resin binder developed specifically for filling joints and imperfections in parquet and other wooden floors. It is mixed with clean sanding dust from the floor being restored to create a smooth paste that closely matches the surrounding timber.
Its rapid-drying formulation allows the floor to be sanded again after approximately 30–60 minutes under suitable conditions. Lecol 7500 is available in 0.8kg and 5kg variants and can be used before applying the professional stains, primers, lacquers and wood floor oils available from Wiltshire Wood Flooring Supplies.
Wiltshire Wood Recommendation
Mix Lecol 7500 with fine, clean sanding dust collected from the same floor and spread it across the surface using the Bona Flat Bladed Trowel. Its flexible stainless steel blade helps force the mixture firmly into the joints while removing excess filler from the timber surface.
Key Benefits
- Very fast-drying professional wood floor filler
- Ready for sanding after approximately 30–60 minutes
- Mixes with sanding dust for a close timber colour match
- Developed specifically for parquet and wooden floors
- Excellent filling and levelling properties
- Suitable for full-surface filling before the final sanding stage
- Compatible with professional stains, primers, lacquers and floor oils
- Available in 0.8kg and 5kg variants
Suitable For
- Parquet and herringbone flooring
- Mosaic and patterned wood flooring
- Solid wood flooring
- Suitable engineered wood flooring
- Fine joints between parquet blocks
- Small gaps between timber boards
- Nail holes and fixing holes
- Minor cracks and surface imperfections
- Full-surface filling during professional floor sanding
Important: Resin filler is best suited to stable joints and smaller imperfections. Significant seasonal movement within floorboards can cause dried filler to loosen over time. Larger or highly mobile gaps may require timber slivers or another suitable repair method.

Preparation
- Sand the flooring back to clean, bare timber.
- Ensure the surface is dry and free from wax, oil, lacquer and other contamination.
- Collect clean sanding dust during the sanding stage immediately before the final sanding cut.
- Use dust from the same timber and, where possible, the same floor to minimise colour variation.
- Ensure the Lecol 7500 and the room are both at least 15°C before mixing.
- Use clean mixing equipment and a clean stainless steel application tool.
How To Mix and Apply
- Pour a manageable quantity of Lecol 7500 into a clean mixing container.
- Gradually add fine sanding dust and mix until a smooth paste is produced that spreads easily without becoming excessively dry.
- Apply the mixture across the floor using the Bona Flat Bladed Trowel.
- Work diagonally and from several directions where necessary to press the filler completely into the joints, cracks and fixing holes.
- Keep the trowel relatively flat and remove heavy ridges or accumulations from the timber surface.
- Allow the filler to dry completely for approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on the amount applied and site conditions.
- Complete the final sanding process only after the filler is fully dry.
- Vacuum the surface thoroughly and repeat the filling process where deeper joints require an additional application.
- Finish the sanding sequence before applying the chosen stain, primer, lacquer or oil system.
Recommended Application Tool
| Product | Recommended Use |
|---|---|
| Bona Flat Bladed Trowel | Recommended for spreading Lecol 7500 across the floor, pressing the mixture firmly into the joints and scraping away excess filler before it dries. |

| Finishing System | Suitable Options |

| Morrells Primers and Sealers | Compatible Morrells systems available within our Wood Floor Primers collection. |

Staining Advice: Remove all filler residue from the face of the timber before staining. Filled joints can absorb colour differently from the surrounding wood, so complete a representative test area using the full stain and finishing system before treating the entire floor.
Humidity: Do not mix or apply Lecol 7500 in conditions of high humidity, as this can cause white discolouration within the dried filler.
Safety: Lecol 7500 is a highly flammable solvent-based product. Keep it away from heat, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. Maintain good ventilation, avoid breathing the vapour and wear suitable protective gloves and eye protection. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use and follow the current product label and safety data sheet.
Always follow the application sequence for the selected stain, primer, lacquer or oil system. Compatibility does not remove the need for correct sanding preparation and a representative test area before full application.
