Bona Wood Floor Polish Remover 1L is a concentrated polish-removal agent developed to remove build-up from Bona Polish, Bona Freshen Up and other compatible maintenance coatings. Formulated for safe use on finished wooden floors, it softens old polish so it can be scrubbed and removed without stripping the underlying lacquer or varnish.
It can also be used on other water-resistant flooring, including tiles, PVC, vinyl and linoleum. The concentration can be adjusted according to the amount of polish build-up, making it suitable for both periodic maintenance and more intensive removal.
Wiltshire Wood Recommendation
Remove accumulated polish when repeated applications begin to leave the floor looking uneven or dull. Always complete a small test area first and use the lowest effective concentration. Once all residue has been removed and the floor is completely dry, a fresh layer of Bona Polish or Bona Wood Floor Refresher can be applied.
Key Benefits
- Removes built-up polish and maintenance coatings
- Effective on Bona Polish and Bona Freshen Up
- Concentrated formula with adjustable dilution
- Formulated for safe use on finished wooden floors
- Does not remove the underlying lacquer or varnish when used correctly
- Suitable for several water-resistant floor coverings
- Can also be used to remove scuff marks
- Low-odour, water-based formulation
Suitable For
- Lacquered and varnished wooden floors
- Factory-finished engineered wood flooring
- Tiles
- PVC and vinyl flooring
- Linoleum flooring
- Removing compatible polish and maintenance-product build-up
Important: Bona Wood Floor Polish Remover removes maintenance coatings rather than the underlying lacquer, varnish or factory-applied finish. Keep the amount of liquid used on wooden floors to a minimum and do not allow the solution to enter open joints, gaps or areas of exposed timber, as staining or other damage may occur. Always test the selected concentration in a small, inconspicuous area first.
Dilution
| Application | Dilution |
|---|---|
| Polish removal | Mix 1 litre of remover with 1–5 litres of water, depending on the level of build-up. |
| Scuff-mark removal | Use as a 20% solution, equivalent to 1 part remover with 4 parts water. |
How To Use
- Vacuum or sweep the floor thoroughly to remove loose dust, grit and debris.
- Mix Bona Wood Floor Polish Remover with water at a concentration between 1:1 and 1:5. Test a small area to establish the lowest effective concentration.
- Apply the diluted solution evenly to a manageable section of the floor using a mop or suitable spray equipment.
- Allow approximately five minutes for the existing polish to soften. Do not allow the solution to dry on the floor.
- Scrub the treated section using suitable cleaning equipment and a red or green cleaning pad.
- Immediately remove the dissolved polish using a wet vacuum, floor-cleaning machine or a clean mop and fresh water.
- Repeat the treatment if necessary where several layers of polish have accumulated.
- Once the complete floor has been treated, clean it again using fresh water to remove all traces of the remover.
- Allow the floor to dry completely before applying Bona Wood Floor Polish or Bona Wood Floor Refresher.
