Protimeter TimberMaster 3 BLD5675 is a professional pin-type moisture meter specifically designed for accurate moisture measurement in timber and wood products.
Unlike general building moisture meters, the TimberMaster allows the user to select the appropriate calibration for the timber species being tested. The Protimeter Connect App provides access to calibration data for 150 wood species, with 10 preferred species stored directly on the meter for quick use on site.
With Bluetooth connectivity, a large easy-to-read display, automatic calibration checks and a supplied heavy-duty moisture probe, the TimberMaster is ideal for flooring contractors, timber merchants, joiners, manufacturers and anyone requiring reliable wood moisture readings.

Professional Wood Flooring Advice
Wood flooring should be tested in several locations before installation. Take readings from different boards, packs and areas of the room, and compare the results with the flooring manufacturer’s installation requirements.
The TimberMaster allows readings to be adjusted for the wood species being tested, helping provide more meaningful results than a general moisture meter using one standard timber calibration.
Where timber temperature is significantly above or below 20°C, an optional Protimeter temperature probe can be used to compensate the moisture reading automatically.
Timber Species Calibration
150 Wood Species
Select the correct calibration for a wide range of hardwoods and softwoods using the Protimeter Connect App.
10 Stored Species
Store up to 10 preferred timber calibrations directly on the meter for quick access during everyday work.
Accurate Comparison
Species correction helps compensate for differences in electrical resistance between different types of timber.

How to Use the Protimeter TimberMaster
1. Select the Timber Species
Choose the appropriate timber calibration from the species stored on the meter. Additional species can be selected and transferred through the Protimeter Connect App.
2. Take Surface Readings
Remove the protective cap and push the integral pins firmly into the timber. Ensure both pins make secure contact with the wood.
3. Use the External Probe Where Required
Connect the supplied heavy-duty moisture probe when testing awkward areas or where the integral pins are not suitable.
4. Test Below the Surface
An optional hammer electrode can be connected when deeper moisture readings are required. The slide-hammer pins can test up to approximately 30mm beneath the timber surface.
5. Record the Results
Use Bluetooth and the Protimeter Connect App to save readings, photographs and site records with date and time information.
Understanding Timber Moisture Readings
The moisture content of timber is affected by species, temperature, environmental humidity and the length of time the material has been stored at the installation site.
For wood flooring, do not rely on a single measurement. Test several boards from different packs and compare the flooring readings with the timber subfloor and room conditions.
A reading that is suitable for one flooring product or site environment may not be suitable for another. Always follow the moisture limits specified by the flooring manufacturer.
What Is Included?
- Protimeter TimberMaster BLD5675 moisture meter.
- Heavy-duty external moisture probe.
- Protective carrying pouch.
- Wood calibration information.
- User instructions.
- Batteries.
Important Information
- The measuring pins are extremely sharp and should remain covered when not in use.
- Select the correct timber-species calibration before taking readings.
- Readings above 30% moisture content are comparative rather than absolute.
- Take readings across several boards and locations.
- Metal fixings, salts, carbon and conductive contamination can affect results.
- Temperature can influence moisture readings in timber.
- Use a suitable optional temperature probe where automatic correction is required.
- The TimberMaster is designed specifically for wood and is not a concrete RH hygrometer.
- Always follow the flooring or timber manufacturer’s stated moisture limits.
