The Bona Velcro Conversion Kit 178 mm is a genuine Bona replacement pad designed to convert compatible Bona edging sanders from a traditional bolt-on abrasive system to a modern self-adhesive hook-and-loop backing system.
Once installed, compatible sanding discs can be fitted and changed quickly without repeatedly removing fixing screws, helping professional floor sanding contractors save valuable time throughout each sanding project.
This 178 mm conversion pad is suitable for the Bona Standard Edger family and the Bona Edge UX. It is manufactured to Bona's original specification for accurate fit, reliable balance and professional durability.

The Bona Edge UX uses a thicker steel drive disc than the Standard Edger,
but both machines use the same 178 mm Velcro conversion pad. Although the
Velcro pad is shared, you must still select the correct steel disc for your
exact machine.
If the existing steel disc is worn, bent, damaged or covered in old adhesive, we recommend replacing it at the same time. This provides the flattest possible sanding surface and helps maximise the service life of the new Velcro pad.

Installation Guidance
- Disconnect the edging machine completely from the power supply before beginning any maintenance.
- Remove the old Velcro pad and carefully clean away all remaining adhesive, dust, grease and contamination from the steel drive disc.
- Check that the steel disc is flat, undamaged and suitable for continued use before fitting the replacement pad.
- Position the new conversion pad accurately and apply firm, even pressure across the entire surface.
- Allow the adhesive to establish a secure bond before placing the machine under heavy use.
Important: The Standard Edge and Edge UX use the same 178 mm Velcro conversion pad but require different steel drive discs. Always select the steel disc that matches your exact machine model.
