Bona Diamond Abrasive Discs 150mm are premium Velcro-backed abrasives developed for exceptionally smooth and consistent fine sanding. Manufactured using highly durable diamond particles, they maintain their sanding performance far longer than conventional screens while producing an even scratch pattern with minimal visible swirl marks.
Suitable for both the final sanding of bare timber and the superficial abrasion of existing coatings before overcoating, these discs perform particularly well on hard finishes, including ceramic-reinforced and UV-cured factory coatings.
Each box contains 8 x 150mm discs. Choose from grit 80, 120 or 240 according to the required application. The Velcro backing allows quick and secure attachment to the correct intermediate pads.
Key Benefits
Choose the Correct Grit
| Grit | Recommended Application |
|---|---|
| 80 | Stronger superficial abrasion of existing coatings and the first abrasion stage within suitable professional overcoating systems. |
| 120 | Fine sanding of bare timber before lacquers, stains, coloured oils or other suitable wood-floor finishes are applied. |
| 240 | Fine abrasion of finished and pre-finished floors before overcoating, including hard UV-cured and anti-scratch surfaces. |

How to Use
Fit one complete set of 150mm intermediate pads to the Bona Quattro Disc , then attach one Bona Diamond Abrasive Disc to each intermediate pad using the Velcro fixing.
Do not attach the Diamond Abrasive Discs directly to the Quattro Disc. The pressure-equalising intermediate pads allow the discs to follow the floor more smoothly and reduce the risk of sanding through the existing finish.
Sand using controlled sweeping movements both with and across the direction of the wood. Continue until the entire surface is evenly abraded and completely matt, including edges and any areas requiring additional hand preparation.
Cleaning and Reusing the Discs
Bona Diamond Abrasive Discs are highly durable and may continue to cut effectively after ordinary abrasives would normally require replacement. During use, regularly inspect the surface and remove accumulated sanding dust to maintain an even cut.
As demonstrated during professional Bona training, clogged discs can be carefully rinsed using clean water to release compacted residue from the abrasive surface. Rinse gently without aggressively folding or damaging the disc, then allow it to dry completely before reuse.
This cleaning tip is based on professional training and practical use; it is not stated as a formal cleaning instruction in the supplied Bona technical data sheet.
Previously used or contaminated floors must be thoroughly cleaned before abrasion. After sanding, remove all fine residual dust before applying the new coating.
For smaller areas, Bona Cleaning Discs may be fitted to the intermediate pads to collect remaining dust. For larger floors, Bona advises cleaning with a suitable autoscrubber and clean red pad, followed by the correct preparation and overcoating process.
Always carry out a test area and follow the relevant Bona preparation and application instructions for the selected coating system.
