The Spotnails Compact Silent 18V Cordless Air Compressor – 6L gives professional flooring installers a quiet, portable air supply for pneumatic staple guns, nailers and bradders without relying on a mains socket or trailing power lead.
Designed around the stop-start air demand of pneumatic fastening tools, its 6-litre receiver stores compressed air ready for each fixing. The motor automatically stops when the tank reaches pressure and restarts as air is used, making it particularly useful for plywood and hardboard preparation, carpet gripper installation and other professional flooring work.
The compressor accepts Makita 18V LXT slide batteries directly and can operate with either one or two batteries. Optional DeWalt 18V XR and Milwaukee M18 battery adapters are available separately, allowing installers to use the compatible battery platform they already own.
Cordless Air Power for Flooring Fasteners
This compressor is best suited to pneumatic tools that use short, controlled bursts of air, including flooring staplers, coil nailers and bradders. It is not intended to provide the continuous high airflow required by rotary air tools, large spray equipment or other high-consumption machinery.
Why Choose the Spotnails 18V Cordless Compressor?
- Cordless 18V operation with no mains supply or trailing power lead required.
- Developed for pneumatic staplers, nailers and bradders.
- Quiet 60 dB(A) operation, ideal for occupied homes and noise-sensitive sites.
- Compact 6-litre air receiver with a maximum pressure of 8 bar.
- Oil-free pump for clean, low-maintenance operation.
- Can operate from either one or two compatible 18V batteries.
- Makita 18V LXT batteries fit directly without an adapter.
- Optional adapters available for DeWalt 18V XR and Milwaukee M18 batteries.
- Dual gauges display tank pressure and regulated outlet pressure.
- Adjustable outlet regulator allows the pressure to be matched to the connected tool.
- Automatic cut-off and restart maintain the air supply as the tool is used.
- Thermal, overvoltage, undervoltage and low-voltage-start protection.
- Integrated carrying handle and anti-vibration feet for convenient site use.
Ideal Applications
- Powering pneumatic flooring staple guns.
- Powering pneumatic coil nailers and bradders.
- Fixing plywood overlays to suitable timber subfloors.
- Fixing hardboard to timber substrates.
- Installing carpet gripper rods.
- Flooring preparation, refurbishment and interior fit-out work.
- Mobile work where a convenient mains supply is unavailable.
- Occupied properties and other environments where low noise is important.
What Is Included?
- 1 × Spotnails Compact Silent 18V cordless air compressor.
- 1 × operating and safety manual.
Bare Compressor Unit
Batteries, battery charger, battery adapters, airline and pneumatic tools are not included. Makita 18V LXT batteries connect directly. DeWalt 18V XR and Milwaukee M18 batteries require the correct Spotnails compressor battery adapter, purchased separately.

Battery Compatibility
| Battery Platform | What Is Required? |
|---|---|
| Makita 18V LXT | Fits directly; no adapter required. |
| DeWalt 18V XR | DeWalt adapter required for each fitted battery. |
| Milwaukee M18 | Milwaukee adapter required for each fitted battery. |
For professional use, we recommend compatible 4.0Ah or higher-capacity batteries to provide more useful runtime. Batteries must be undamaged, correctly charged and suitable for the selected platform.
DeWalt Battery Compatibility
The DeWalt 5Ah Powerstack battery is not compatible with the compressor adapter. Do not use DeWalt 12V batteries, older stem-type batteries or any battery that does not fit and lock into the approved adapter correctly.
One or Two Battery Operation
The compressor can run with one compatible 18V battery, allowing the second bay to remain empty. Installing two compatible batteries extends the available motor runtime; it does not increase the maximum 8-bar pressure.
Published guidance states approximately 13–15 minutes of total motor operation with one battery and approximately 25–30 minutes with two batteries. This is compressor motor-running time, not necessarily the elapsed time spent working. A stapler, nailer or bradder uses a short burst of stored air for each fixing, so the motor stops and restarts automatically as the receiver pressure changes. Actual working time varies with battery capacity and condition, selected pressure, connected tool and firing rate.
When using two batteries, use compatible batteries from the same platform with matching capacity and a similar state of charge. One adapter is required for each DeWalt or Milwaukee battery fitted to the compressor.
Operating Guide
- Position the compressor upright on a firm, level and dry surface with the ventilation openings unobstructed.
- Confirm that the power switch is in the OFF position and the receiver drain valve is closed.
- Fit one or two charged compatible 18V batteries. Use the correct adapter for each DeWalt or Milwaukee battery.
- Connect a suitable airline securely to the compressor outlet and the pneumatic tool.
- Switch the compressor on and allow the receiver to reach pressure. The motor will stop automatically at its preset cut-off pressure.
- Check the operating-pressure requirement in the pneumatic tool instructions.
- Use the centre regulator to set the required outlet pressure, reading the outlet-pressure gauge as you adjust it.
- Test the tool and fixing result on a suitable offcut or inconspicuous area before starting the main work.
- During use, allow the compressor to restart automatically as the receiver pressure falls.
- After use, switch off, remove the batteries, release the airline pressure and drain collected moisture from the receiver in accordance with the manual.

Routine Maintenance
- Drain moisture from the air receiver after each use in accordance with the manual.
- Check for unusual noise, vibration, loose fixings or air leaks before use.
- Keep the cylinder head, motor, cooling fan, ventilation openings and receiver clean.
- Inspect and clean the air filter regularly; replace a worn or contaminated filter.
- Remove all batteries and release pressure before cleaning, adjustment, transport or maintenance.
Important Safety Information
- Read and follow the supplied compressor and pneumatic-tool instructions before use.
- Wear appropriate eye protection and any other task-specific personal protective equipment.
- Compressed air from this unit is not suitable for breathing.
- Do not use or store the compressor in wet, damp, explosive or poorly ventilated environments.
- Do not touch the motor, pump or discharge components during or immediately after operation because they may become hot.
- Never alter the factory-set pressure switch or safety valve.
- Do not weld, drill or modify the air receiver.
- Use only sound, approved batteries and the correct battery adapter where required.
- Do not use the compressor for continuous high-air-demand equipment beyond its published capacity.
Runtime, recharge frequency and tool performance vary with battery capacity and condition, pressure setting, air consumption, firing rate, temperature and working technique. Published air intake is not the same as delivered airflow. Always confirm that the connected pneumatic tool operates within the compressor’s delivered-air and pressure capacity.
