Reclaimed Pine Slivers – Approx. 100 Pack are hand-cut from genuine reclaimed pine floorboards and supplied as tapered wedges for repairing gaps between traditional pine floorboards.
Available in 6mm and 8mm sizes, the slivers are approximately 1 metre long and can be trimmed to suit the repair. Once securely bonded, they can be cut or planed flush, sanded and finished with the surrounding floor for a strong and natural-looking restoration.
Why Choose Our Reclaimed Pine Slivers?
- Hand-cut from genuine reclaimed pine floorboards
- Approximately 100 slivers per pack
- Approximately 1 metre long
- Available in 6mm and 8mm sizes
- Traditional tapered wedge profile
- Ideal for wider or moving floorboard gaps
- Can be sanded, stained, oiled or lacquered
- Provides a durable alternative to filler alone
Typical Applications
- Gap repairs between traditional pine floorboards
- Victorian and Edwardian floor restoration
- Older softwood flooring
- Reducing draughts through floorboard joints
- Replacing failed or loose filler in wider gaps
- Domestic and commercial restoration work
Professional Tip:
Pine slivers normally provide a stronger and longer-lasting repair than
resin or flexible filler alone on wider floorboard gaps. Once glued
securely into the joint, the slivers can be trimmed and sanded with the
rest of the floor.

As these slivers are hand-cut from reclaimed timber, the exact quantity, width, grain, colour and dimensions will naturally vary slightly between packs.
Preparation
- Clean out each joint thoroughly, removing loose filler, debris, dust and contamination.
- Ensure the sides of the floorboards provide a clean and sound bonding surface.
- Select the most suitable section of tapered sliver for the width of the joint.
- Cut the sliver to the required length before applying the adhesive where practical.
Installation
- Clean the joint thoroughly and vacuum away all loose dust and debris.
- Apply a suitable wood adhesive along the joint, forming a continuous trough of adhesive.
- Coat or dip the tapered edge of the pine sliver into the adhesive to ensure good contact on both sides.
- Position the sliver over the joint and tap it firmly into place using a hammer or mallet until it is secure and tightly fitted.
- Remove excess adhesive from the surrounding surface before it cures where appropriate.
- Allow the adhesive to cure fully in accordance with its instructions.
- Cut, plane or trim the projecting sliver close to the floor surface.
- Sand the sliver flush with the surrounding floor before applying the selected stain, oil or lacquer.
Recommended Adhesives
The following adhesives are suitable options for bonding pine slivers, depending on the required working and curing time:
- Morrells D3 PVA Wood Flooring Adhesive – a fast-setting, water-resistant PVA adhesive ideal for traditional pine floor repairs.
- Morrells F301 30 Minute Liquid PU Adhesive – a fast-curing option that expands slightly to help fill minor surface irregularities.
- Lecol PVAC 750g Tongue & Groove Wood Flooring Adhesive – a water-based PVA adhesive with high shear strength for timber joints and flooring repairs.
Compatible Finishes
Once the adhesive has cured and the slivers have been sanded flush, they can be finished with most professional wood floor systems, including:
- Wood floor stains
- Hardwax oils
- Waterborne primers and lacquers
- Traditional varnishes suitable for wood flooring
Important: These slivers are made from genuine reclaimed pine, so natural variation is expected. Each pack contains approximately 100 slivers rather than a guaranteed exact count. Colour, grain, width and profile may also vary, helping the finished repair blend more naturally with traditional pine flooring.
